Just heard that the mother of my friend Matt Pateman died today. Not unexpected but very sad to hear that she lost her fight with cancer.

Some things you just don’t expect
One of the strangest sights I’ve seen this year. Wandering through Soho Square on my way up to Euston Station I came across a stand for Oxygen, a product of some sort from Nivea. As I approached I could hear the distinct sound of drums and tamberines. What a strange sound I thought to myself coming from something so contrived. I could see one of the men manning it leaning over a counter staring out into space. At this point I spotted the Hari-Krishna’s and realise the stand had been overrun.  No wonder those manning the stand were trying to make themselve invisible.
A marketeer’s worst nightmare. Again typically at these occasions the batteries in my camera were flat as it would have made a brillant photo opportunity. I doubt I’ll ever see the same thing again.
Tom McRae Live at Shepherd’s Bush Empire
Just been to see Tom McRae live at the Shepherd’s Bush Empire with Abbi and her friend Dan. Abbi persuaded me to go to listen to Tom who I hadn’t come across until she mentioned yesterday that he was playing tonight. Enjoyed his music and the atmosphere that was there.
It was strange to be back in Shepherd’s Bush after not visiting it for a couple of years. The inevitable Starbucks has appeared, The Happy Garden which on many occasion we have had take out to Flat 12 Camerat Court has gone, the big white empty building and the Mailcoach Inn are now just flattened spaces. It was also the first time that I’d been to the Shepherd’s Bush Empire
Isle of White Festival 2007
I’ve done it, I’ve been to my first ever festival.
Caught the ferry back this morning from the Isle Of Wight with Phil, Richard and Kirsty. It was a shame that it’s all over as I really enjoyed being away for the last few days and chilling out in the company of friends.
Sunday At The Isle Of Wight Festival
Rolling Stones, Keane and Palo Nutini!!!
A good to hear some more Palo Nutini as I’ve not really listened to much before but I’ve enjoyed what I have heard. Keane put on a really good show. Their lead singer made use of the extended stage that had been built overnight so we found ourselves surprisingly close to him.
The Rolling Stones really got the atmosphere charged. We were all dancing away to Honky Tonk Woman, Brown Sugar and Satisfaction. A great climax to an event.[thumb:997:i]
It was a bit said waving off Asanaga, Matt and John at half past one in the morning.

Saturday at the Isle Of Wight Festival
A surprise display by the Red Arrows was a great sight in the afternoon seeing them perform with us standing below them. [thumb:984:i]
Saw, Amy Winehouse, Kasabian and Muse this evening. Have to say found Muse quite hard to get into though the songs I did recognise I found myself bouncing away to them. Kasaiban and Amy Whinehouse I enjoyed much more. Again another day of chilling and enjoying being on holiday.
First Evening At The Isle Of Wight Festival
This day’s got off to a fun start. Turning up to Kirsty’s who’s car I was sharing a lift in I managed to get a laugh in asking Matt who had just driven down from Birmingham if he’d remembered to bring his passport with him. His face dropped when I said this and you could see the it running through his mind that he was going to have to drive back to Birmingham to get his passport. I quickly told him that I was pulling his leg as everyone else was laughing.
Once on the island we waited a few hours for Asanaga and his friend John to arrive. Having set up our camp and finding out on who Asanga and Matt was it transpired that Asanga live in Peckham and lived on the for a time on the Gloucester Road. From this I guessed he’d studided at Imperial College and before I knew it transpired he had studied with my friend Paul Mitcheson. Such a small world.
That evening we caught a bit of Groove Armada but the highlight was seeing Snow Patrol Live. Need to go and buy their album Eyes Wide Open when I get down the shop.
It’s Off To The Isle Of Wight Festival
Friday off, OU essay in the post and I’m all set to head off to the Isle of Wight with Richard, Kirsty, Phil and three people I haven’t met before, Matt John, and Asanga.[thumb:979:i][thumb:977:i]
Getting ones life back
With any luck the turnaround at work that I was involved with will all be over by tomorrow morning. Will just have to wait and see when I turn up to work.
Now that I can get my life back I better press on with my things to do list
Futher Confirmation It’s a Small World
My friend Shell has a new friend Liam. One of his housemate’s, Anthony, is someone I already know. Scary stuff.
