Best Opening To Songs

The following is a list of the songs that have the most catching opening riffs in my view

1. A Life Less Ordinary – A life Less Ordinary – Ash – I just love the sound of these chords on the guitar.
2. Lose Control – 1977 – Ash – The sound of the tie fighter makes you think yes this is 1977
3. Move On Up – Curtis Mayfield – The opening to this track really lifts me up as I know I’m going to hear the worlds “Move On Up”
4. Long Shot – I’m With Stupid – Aimee Mann – A song I listen to when I know I’ve done something stupid.  The words “You’ve fucked up” just sum things up.
5. Wonderwall – (What’s the Story) Morning Glory – Oasis – “Today going to be the day …” makes me think of unrequited love.
6. Don’t Look Back In Anger – (What’s the Story) Morning Glory – Oasis – Makes me think of Imagine by John Lennon
7. Dreams – Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can’t We: – The Cranberries – Makes me think that I can escape the world
8. Song 2 – Blur – Blur – I will forever associate this song with planetary assualt agains the bugs in Starship Troopers.
9. The Riverboat Song – Mosley Shoals – Ocean Colour Scene – TFI Friday
10. Set You Free – N-Trance – Whilst living for 6 weeks in Sutton I was woken up every week day by Ant in the room below playing this at full volume at 7 am.  Needless to say the neighbours weren’t very pleased about us.
